Dear Commissions,

As you undertake the important task of reviewing federal electoral district boundaries, we request you consider the following so we may be best represented in Canadian Parliament:

  • The North be given special consideration for population requirements considering their large geographical area, unique characteristics and needs;
  • The Municipality of Minitonas-Bowsman remain in our current riding where we share similar needs, mutual concerns and priorities with neighbouring communities;
  • Economic Trading Areas be considered in each riding so sectors and industries playing integral roles in local economies are better represented.

We appreciate the Commission's duties and necessity to regularly review electoral boundaries, however we request this review encompass local considerations in addition to population distribution to achieve best representation. We believe best representation for the Municipality of Minitonas-Bowsman is achieved by remaining in the riding of Swan River-Dauphin-Neepawa.

If the Commission requires additional information regarding this request, we are available to discuss further.

Respectfully,

Robin Y. Wiebe Chief Administrative Officer Municipality of Minitonas-Bowsman
