Re name change for Ward 4 in Toronto - Parkdale-High Park.
The proposed new name is Taiaiako'n - High Park.
I totally disagree with this name change as it's totally unnecessary and the residents weren't consulted about the new name.
Name changes have become very political and consultation should be considered first.
Money and time spent on updating documents, maps, etc. could be redirected to more urgent issues. Also, name change requests are often not paid for by the people requesting them.
Being a political change, it shouldn't be allowed. Only honorary names should considered if requested.
