As a resident of Burlington, I am not in agreement with the proposed boundary changes to the electoral district of Burlington. Recognizing that roughly equitable population distribution and a reasonable geographic area are necessary prerequisites to a fairly drawn electoral district map, I nevertheless feel that the proposed changes fail to take into account how voters identify with their community and use its services. I believe the logical boundary change would be to include everything west of Burloak/Bronte Creek and south of Hwy 5 in the riding of Burlington. Oakville's population will grow more than Burlington's as we are almost built out here, so adding a portion of the existing ONB riding to Burlington will likely be balanced out by this growth in Oakville in the near future, in my opinion.
If this is not possible, then I support leaving the boundaries as they are, which seems to have served Burlington residents well enough.
