I am a resident of the Burlington Electoral District in the Brant Hills Neighbourhood. Under the proposed Electoral Boundary change, I would be moved into the Burlington-Milton West District. I wanted to submit a written submission that I feel the proposed change is not to the benefit of residents, and that residents in this area should continue to be represented by a Burlington-based riding, Burlington-Lakeshore based on the current proposal.

Based on the proposed boundaries, this riding appears to be very Milton based, plus Rural areas. This would likely leave residents far removed from the core of an MPs focus, and residents far from access to said MP. There are also areas being added to the Burlington-Lakeshore riding that are not part of the current Burlington riding that are geographically closer to Milton than the Brant Hills area.

Many of the concerns around this riding may reflect the Milton CN yard, which do not affect Burlington Residents, or Green-Belt and Escarpment which, well they affect us all is not of the same concern as other areas.

Finally, if provincial boundaries are also updated to reflect consistent with the federal boundaries, many provincial matters such as schools my children attend and nearest hospitals are based in the Burlington-Lakeshore proposed boundaries. While the areas being added may be more closely represented by the new Oakville-Trafalgar hospital which is located near the tri-point of Burlington-Milton West, Georgetown-Milton East and Oakville-North ridings.
The proposed changes would not be to the benefit of residents of this area, especially to add residents from outside of the existing Burlington riding.
