Adam Baiton

My name is Adam Baiton. I live in Welland. The proposed changes to Niagara Centre that would remove most of Thorold and the southern St. Catharines areas to be replaced with Fort Erie to make the Niagara South riding are very strange.

There is no continuity of public interests in the proposed L shaped riding. It neither represents the smaller canal and 406 centred communities of Welland, Thorold and Port Colborne. Nor does it serve the border community of Fort Erie. Which would be cut off from its shared interests along the QEW. While Port Colborne and Fort Erie may share many aspects and deal with similar issues along the lakeside and highway 3, the proposal does not include their natural partner of Wainfleet in that respect.

The shared interests of the proposed new riding over all serve no one. If the current Niagara Falls river adjacent riding has too many residents look to Niagara on the Lake for adjustments. It and St. Catharines at least share the QEW as a major artery.

Thank you,

Adam Baiton
