Pontiac—Kitigan Zibi Proposal

Reason: The name of the Kitigan Zibi Indian Reserve is being added to the current name of the district to reflect the presence of the Algonquin First Nation in the territory. The Anishinaabe community of Kitigan Zibi is the largest of the nine communities where the Algonquins of Quebec live.

Consists of:

  1. the Regional County Municipality of Pontiac;
  2. the Regional County Municipality of Collines-de-l'Outaouais comprising:
    1. the municipalities of Cantley and Pontiac;
    2. the Municipality of Chelsea, with the exception of an area lying southerly and easterly of a line described as follows: commencing at the intersection of Alonzo-Wright Road and Highway 105; thence northwesterly along said road to a point at approximate latitude 45°29'03"N and longitude 75°45'16"W; thence generally southerly in a straight line to the southeasterly limit of the Municipality of Chelsea at approximate latitude 45°28'44"N and longitude 75°45'15"W;
    3. that part of the Municipality of La Pêche lying westerly and southerly of a line described as follows: commencing at the intersection of the northerly limit of said municipality and the westerly limit of the Township Municipality of Low; thence southerly along the westerly limit of said county municipality to the southwesterly corner of the limit of said county municipality; thence southwesterly in a straight line to a point at approximate latitude 45°44'47"N and longitude 76°09'28"W; thence generally southerly in a straight line to a point at approximate latitude 45°43'56"N and longitude 76°09'18"W; thence southeasterly in a straight line to the intersection of de la Mine Road and Cléo-Fournier Road; thence generally southerly along Cléo-Fournier Road to Principale Road West (Highway 366); thence generally southeasterly along said road to Highway 105; thence generally southeasterly along said road to the southerly limit of the Municipality of La Pêche;
  3. the City of Gatineau comprising:
    1. that part of the areas of Hull and Aylmer lying northerly and westerly of a line described as follows: commencing at the intersection of the westerly limit of said areas and Eardley Road; thence southeasterly along said road to des Allumettières Boulevard; thence generally easterly along said boulevard to Saint-Raymond Boulevard; thence northerly and easterly along said boulevard to the Gatineau Parkway; thence generally northwesterly along said parkway to the northerly limit of the City of Gatineau;
    2. that part of the area of Gatineau lying northerly and westerly of a line described as follows: commencing at the northerly limit of Gatineau River (northerly limit of said city) and du Pont Avenue; thence northeasterly and southeasterly along said avenue and La Vérendrye Boulevard to Highway 50 (Autoroute de l'Outaouais); thence northerly and easterly along said highway to Paiement Montée; thence northerly along Paiement Montée to the northerly limit of the City of Gatineau;
  4. that part of the Regional County Municipality of La Vallée-de-la-Gatineau comprising: the City of Maniwaki; the municipalities of Blue Sea, Bois-Franc, Cayamant, Egan-Sud, Messines and Montcerf-Lytton; that part of the Municipality of Bouchette lying westerly of the Gatineau River; the unorganized territories of Cascades-Malignes, Dépôt-Échouani, Lac-Lenôtre, Lac-Moselle and Lac-Pythonga; and the Kitigan Zibi Indian Reserve.SGB1
