... following the recent release of the proposed electoral boundaries for Eastern Ontario, I am writing you this letter to sincerely request that the boundary of my riding of Peterborough—Kawartha remain the same, as it has for the last 7 years.
I strongly believe the proposed boundaries will create artificial separations in small communities including Havelock, Jack Lake, Apsley, and Buckhorn. Today the individuals of these communities truly feel connected to Peterborough County, both socially and through the provision of services which are used by residents of the municipalities.
A reformation to include these small towns to be part of the Haliburton-Kawartha Lakes-Brock and Hastings-Lennox and Addington-Tyendinaga would cause confusion to the individuals who live there, as well as under serve these communities with the vast geography that the elected officials are expected to represent.
In conclusion, for the good of our local communities, we urge you to keep the boundaries for the federal electoral district of Peterborough-Kawartha the same.
