As a longtime resident of Lot 09, Con 13, Oro-Medonte, I wish to express my concern about prosposed boundary changes to the riding of North Simcoe. If implemented, the proposal would cast us into a riding that, essentially, encompasses the City of Barrie and environs, while severing us from the communities of Coldwater and Orillia with which we've had long historical affinity.
In effect, the result would condemn us to voting in "alien" territory, where our needs would be subordinate to the interests of an urban area with which we share few parochial concerns. While the re-distribution might achieve (I assume) some degree of demographic parity, it in no way reflects the organic integrity of local constituents' lifestyles.
I ask you to reconsider the proposed re-alignment.
