I must voice my complete disagreement with this possible change of name. I see it as a weak attempt to honour our Indigineous voters who are certainly deserving of our respect and honour, but in a more concrete and meaningful way. In addition, the change is a complete waste of all of our time, energy and taxpayer dollars resulting from a change of name.
This is a case of "less is more". Simcoe North is a simple, descriptive and well known name for our Federal Electoral District. The proposed name of Penetanguishene - Couchiching offers challenging spelling at best, and little else.
