whereas Council considered correspondence dated August 30, 2022, from Adam Chambers, MP, Simcoe North, regarding proposed significant changes to the electoral map across Canada, including Ontario;
and whereas one of the proposed changes includes renaming Simcoe North to Penetanguishene-Couchiching;
now therefore be it resolved that Council of The Corporation of the Township of Tiny does not support the name change proposal and recommends that the riding continue to be known as Simcoe North;
and further that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Commission Secretary, Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Ontario by the September 25, 2022 deadline.
