I am Dr. Ying Lu , Head of Ophthalmology Division at Scarborough Health Network, whose Birchmount campus is located in Agincourt Riding. I am writing to you to petition for keeping Agincourt Riding for the following reasons.
- Scarbrough is a rapidly growing community . Scarborough Birchmount campus at Agincourt this year received 1.2 billion from the Ontario government and 75 million from Orlando Cooperation to build a brand new extension to support its growing population's healthcare needs.
- As a rapidly growing community which has been historically underserved, as well as its ethnic diversity of the population ( 66% of residents are immigrants), Scarbrough needs more ridings / not less and representation in the Federal government.
- Agincourt is one of Ontario and Canada's oldest and most well-established communities. Agincourt Village was established 164 years ago . As Canada is growing and changing rapidly, it is the responsibility of both the Federal government and Agincourt residents to keep Agincourt riding for preservation of our common past history.
Please help preserve our history and serve Agincourt community.
