We feel well served in York Centre as our community is part of the Downsview community. With all due respect, we have very little to do with the organizations in Black Creek. Though there is some overlap with Black Creek it is minimal.

We are concerned that of the North York ridings, we would be slotted into the largest one with a population count of over 117,000. That does not seem very fair to us when the new York Centre will have 112,000 and Bayview Finch will have 110,000.

We think the ridings should have equal population so we are asking if you could please consider the following:

  1. Keep Grandravine in York Centre. We would be better served there, and this would make the ridings more equal in population. We are asking for the boundaries west of Keele, North of Sheppard to be preserved.
  2. Please take a portion of York Centre and give it to Bayview Finch! This would make the populations more equal, and we propose the top right section.

Dear Redistribution Commission,

Firstly, thank-you for the opportunity to provide feedback to your proposal.

The Grandravine Women's Fitness Group represents active seniors – active in the community and active in their personal health. We have carefully reviewed the proposed boundaries for the ridings of Black Creek and York Centre and have some concerns.

Presently, we are in York Centre, but your proposal would move us into Black Creek Riding.

We feel well served in York Centre as our community is part of the Downsview community. With all due respect, we have very little to do with the organizations in Black Creek. Our seniors primarily access services in York Centre and we liaise with organizations in York Centre including other seniors' groups. Though there is some overlap with Black Creek it is minimal.

We are also concerned that of the North York ridings, we would be slotted into the largest one with a population count of over 117,000. That does not seem very fair to us when the new York Centre will have 112,000 and Bayview Finch will have 110,000.

We think the ridings should have equal population (more or less) so we are asking if you could please consider the following:

Thanks very much for your consideration,
