I am writing to express my family's lack of support for the elimination of the Scarborough North electoral district and to reduce the representation of Scarborough at the Federal level. Scarborough is a unique area of the city and has needs that will be lost if amalgamated into a North York riding. This amalgamation means a lack of a unified voice for those of us in Scarborough and addressing our needs. As an example, North York is well served by the subway system whereas Scarborough is not. By ignoring this uniqueness, we risk decision-making about our needs being overlooked due to different perspectives in the ward district about what the needs are. We look forward to a reconsideration about the re-alignment of the boundaries.
