I am obliged to send you my opinion in view of your redistribution population proposal. I am extremely disappointed with the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Ontario to propose cutting Scarborough from six seats to five and Toronto from 25 seats to 24.

Toronto is one the biggest cities in the World, and an economic engine of Canada. Scarborough is one its fastest growing communities, with a growing diverse resident of 25% of Toronto's population, majority of them are young hard working immigrant families, aging long-term residents and retirees, and the "sandwiched generation". This is a category of vulnerable populations with a significant member of them do not even have enough knowledge about their rights and are often lacking the ability and skill to express their problems and needs.

Populations with such a challenging situations and conditions, would you think they need voices to speak out for them? Do you know that your redistribution population proposal will cause Scarborough to lose a seat and reduce the representation of the Scarborough vulnerable populations at all three levels of government?

I would think any conscience government decision makers should develop policies to protect and help the vulnerable population. Sadly, your redistribution proposal does not reflect that at all.

May I take this opportunity to remind everyone, the quality of our country depends on the quality of our people, most importantly, the political leaders and decision makers of our three levels of government.

I plead that you play your role with integrity and compassion and bring Canadians, in particular new immigrants, with hope for a better future, a place we all call home.
