I am writing to let you know why I think it is a bad idea to realign the Boundaries for the Federal Election Boundaries.

There are many reasons that this is a bad idea, and I am certain that my fellow Scarberians will point them out. The particular issue that the concerns me is the lack of representation of Scarborough at the Federal, Provincial and Municipal levels. This evident in many ways, none more obvious than Rapid Transit. Currently there are as many subway stations OUTSIDE the city of Toronto as there are in Scarborough. It's Shameful. Scarborough is always last on the city and provinces mind with regards to funding - Hospitals being another prime example. If we lose an MP (and yes I recognize we will also likely lose an MPP and a councillor if the other levels follow suit) we will have even less of a chance to be treated equitably.

I realize that if we are successful and the boundary is not changed, that these problems will not go away...but at least we will have a fighting chance. Don't take away our fighting chance.

With regards to the names, the names ‘Guildwood' and ‘Rouge Park' are now meaningless when it comes to these boundaries.

Keep it simple and make it Scarborough North West, Scarborough South West, Scarborough Centre, Scarborough North East and Scarborough South East, if the boundary restructure gets approved.
