I was only recently made aware of the changing of federal electoral boundaries which would directly impact myself as a resident of Scarborough Agincourt.

There are important political distinctions within my riding that underlie the importance of keeping the importance of keeping the existing electoral boundaries in tact. My riding in Scarborough has long been underserved, is transit poor and has issues completely distinct to the ones that people in Don Valley North experience. Changing these electoral boundaries will undermine democracy and minimize the voice of the residents of Scarborough north in the House of Commons.

Furthermore, important Scarborough community hubs are featured in the areas proposed for redistribution (west of Warden), with clubs, associations and vendors proudly donning "Scarborough" in their names or branding. Without extensive community consultation, a comprehensive impact assessment and stakeholder discussions going ahead with this particular electoral distribution looks a lot like gerrymandering. I fail to see any tangible benefit to the residents of Scarborough Agincourt as a result of this re-distribution.

I would sincerely like for my voice to be heard in this matter and for my email to be included as part of the records and decision making process. Please let me know if you would like to discuss this further and should you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.

Sincerely,

Geniffer Emmanuel
