I would like to encourage the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission to look at rural Kingston. This is the part of the city of Kingston that is north of the 401.
- We pay city taxes.
- We have connections with Kingston - our cultural, social, recreational activities.
- We have Kingston police services as our police
- We have the Kingston fire department as our fire services
- We pay taxes to the City of Kingston.
- We participate in Kingston activities, including political activities.
I am one of these rural Kingston people / homes.
We did not ask to be amalgamate a long time ago from Kingston township to the city of Kingston, but I have been an active participant ever since.
I don't understand why we cannot have our electoral boundaries as part of Kingston. Currently I have no connection to the current elections process and will have nothing with the proposed boundaries.
I feel that these lines on a map do not take into account actual people.
Please allow us to be part of the City of Kingston in all things. I have the right to be involved in my federal elections and want them to have meaning for me.
Sincerely,
Cindy Dunning
