I am emailing to express my support for the proposal that my neighborhood be grouped back into the Kingston and the Islands riding, which makes far more sense than the proposed grouping in the Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott riding. I live in Glenburnie - a village just 5 minutes north of Kingston. Like many people in my neighborhood, I work in Kingston, my kids attend school in Kingston, I pay property taxes in Kingston, and yet, under the proposed redistricting, my home would be grouped into the Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott riding. Under this plan, the closest constituency office would be about 90km away in Brockville, rather than under 10km away in Kingston. I have no connections to Gananoque, Brockville, or Prescott. I visit each less than once a year, whereas I am in Kingston practically every day for work, my kids' school, shopping, recreation, etc. What happens in Kingston matters to my family, and I would like to have my vote count here.
