We disagree with the proposal to be included in the federal riding of Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott.
We strongly believe that our interests / needs align more with the riding of Kingston and the Islands, for the following reasons:
- We share police and fire services with Kingston.
- Our property taxes go to the City of Kingston (not Gananoque, Brockville, or Prescott).
- Our social, cultural, and economic activity all center around Kingston (not Gananoque, Brockville, or Prescott).
- The distance to the constituency office would be approximately 15 km to Kingston versus 95 km to Brockville.
