We live in Kingston. Although we are slightly north of the 401, we are part of the city of Kingston. We pay our taxes to the City of Kingston. Our police, fire, garbage, snow plowing, water, electricity are all supplied by the city of Kingston. All the services we use are in the city of Kingston. Hospital, doctors, dentist, mail etc is all City Kingston. Everything we do is in Kingston.
To include us with Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott is absolutely ridiculous. It was ridiculous when we were moved from Kingston and the Islands, to Perth Lanark. If the boundaries are being changed again, we should go back to being included in Kingston & the Island. Everything we do is centered around Kingston.
What ever is the point of having our government representatives located in an area that the people living in Kingston have nothing to do with. How can we be properly represented by those who are not part of our city, Kingston.
The people living within the boundaries of the city of Kingston should be represented as part of Kingston and the Islands.
