Members of the Commission, please accept this email as my opinion on the proposed electoral boundaries realignment.

I live in the Brewers Mills area of the city of Kingston. At election time I have always objected to the fact our neighborhood belonged in a different electoral district than our neighbors in the rest of Kingston. It makes it difficult to access our MP and the constituency office being so far away. It actually discourages my spouse and I from voting at election time, as we feel ignored and abandoned within an electoral district to which we don't belong. Realigning us now with Gananoque, Brockville and Prescott is not a suitable solution and would be just as bad if not worse than the current electoral boundary.

Living within the limits of the city of Kingston, I pay my property taxes to the municipality of Kingston. We are served by the same police force and fire services as the rest of Kingston. In fact, the city of Kingston operates a fire station 2 km down the very same street I live on. We shop in the city of Kingston, and our social life revolves around amenities and events within the city of Kingston. Kingston is closer to our home than Brockville or Prescott or Smith Falls.

I believe it is essential that all citizens of the city of Kingston belong within the same electoral district, and that we all share the same common voice representing us in parliament. I urge the Commission to take this information into consideration, and reconsider the current electoral district realignment proposal to include us in the Kingston and the Islands district along with all the residents of the city of Kingston.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need further information or clarification to our position on this matter.

Regards,
Nat Polito
