I am a proud resident of Elizabeth Gardens in Burlington. I'm strongly opposed to my small community being swallowed up by Oakville. Does this mean we will fully become a part of Oakville?
I DON'T WANT THEIR TAXES!
We are nothing alike!
How can one person provide equal representation for a small Burlington neighbourhood at the same time as the larger Town of Oakville riding when most always the majority rules?
We would not be fairly represented - the needs of the larger will most always be put ahead of the fewer - a position we residents do not want.
I moved to Burlington from Port Credit - never once did I ever consider living in Oakville.
Our local services are provided by our city, the City of Burlington - we want proper representation!
Leave Elizabeth Gardens where it belongs... Please :)
