After reviewing the boundary changes for the Burlington federal electoral riding, particularly the removal of the Tyandaga/Brant Hills area and its inclusion into the new Burlington-Milton West riding, it does not make sense to take an established urban area and move it to a rural Burlington-Milton area.
The demographic populations of these communities are different, therefore the concerns in the Burlington population (an older established community) are different from the younger Milton population in the new residential developments
I realize that the redistribution is based on population, but the Commission needs to take into consideration the commonalities (I.e. age, culture, concerns/issues) of these communities and their needs.
Thank you for accepting comments on these changes and I hope that the Commission truly bears these in mind when decisions are made in the final report.
