I do not agree with the proposed redistribution of Burlington Lakeshore by removing the neighborhoods of Tyandaga and Brant Hills. Two very small residential neighborhoods do not make a new constituency nor do they belong with the city of Milton.

I have lived in Burlington for 34 years, having raised my family who benefitted greatly from nearby school and church communities, recreational facilities, and sports organizations. All as part of the same district or electoral riding.

I volunteer and sponsor at our local curling club in Burlington and my husband has volunteered in the cities two major hockey organizations. I have lived in the same neighbourhood and have worked hard to make an impact. The proposal has the aforementioned services split into three different electoral ridings for which I am only permitted to vote in one. This does not make sense to me.

Redistribution should not be based on population alone and it is arbitrary to use Highway 407 as a dividing, geographic boundary. Milton is 20 kilometres from my home. I do not pay taxes there and I do not use their community services.

I wish to have my Federal member of Parliament represent the community in which I live and working for the organizations and services impacting my neighbourhood. I have total confidence in my current MP because she has grown up in my neighbourhood and lives in the city. She understands our issues, challenges and what makes us unique. Please leave Brant Hills and Tyandaga as part of Burlington-Lakeshore.

Respectfully,

Kim McNeill
