I read with interest and dismay regarding the above redistribution proposal being considered.

As a long time Burlington resident who lives in the area you are considering for this proposal I feel very strongly that my representation should stay where I live. To annex the small portion of the Burlington communities between Brant Street and King Road north of the 403 to Dundas effectively cuts off our participation and ability to have a say about what occurs within the community we live in. My concerns, as a citizen of Burlington, are not necessarily the same as those of someone who lives in Milton and our neighbourhoods deserve to be represented by the same MP who will represent the rest of our city.

Further, as the fastest growing area in Halton I would suspect Milton's population will continue to grow and they deserve to have the same representation with the rest of their city as well.

Please reconsider this annexation of our Burlington communities below Dundas Street to this new riding. These neighbourhoods have been established in Burlington for decades. Newer neighbourhoods north of Dundas Street that are only now being established make more sense for this new riding as they do not yet have a history within a riding.

Frankly, if I feel that my future votes will have a lesser impact or value for Burlington, why would I bother voting?

Thank you,

Jean Decaire
