I am against the Elizabeth gardens area being merged into Oakville Lakeshore.
I'm very concerned as all my doctors/specialists are in Burlington with my family doctor next door to Joseph Brant hospital. As a disabled resident, being sent to the Oakville hospital for treatment would create undo hardship. I know from past experiences, the hospital does not send treatment reports to family doctors outside of Oakville.
The homes across from me the Oakville side of Burloak drive are over a million dollars and I am very concerned my property taxes would increase significantly with this change, as I live in a small bungalow. I'm on a fixed CPP disability benefit so this would cause significant financial hardship.
I grew up in Oakville and left 16 years ago as I was not happy being an Oakville resident. I love being a Burlington resident, and do not want to be merged into Oakville Lakeshore riding.
I don't understand why this boundary needs to change.
I want to continue being part of Burlington. This is where I have friends, medical treatments, shop and feel part of the community.
