Modifying the boundaries of the proposed Richmond Hill South and the correct Richmond Hill district to include parts of Thornhill is to strengthen the vote of the residents of this area and allow the residents of this largely neglected area to receive a well-needed boost in their voice. This area of Thornhill is largely neglected due to being overshadowed by the current large Thornhill district. Other proposals to split this area between Markham-Thornhill and Vaughn-Thornhill will aid in further neglecting this community's voice. As a longtime resident of this largely neglected area of Thornhill, I have experienced the frustration of being overshadowed and fettered by the current Thornhill district. It is time to give the residents of this area who have great potential to grow into an exemplary community of Ontario their voice back by allowing them to join a district with common goals of growth. I thank the Commission for reviewing this proposal.
