Newmarket/Aurora changing to New Tecumseth/Bradford
We are writing in strong opposition to removing our community of Harvest Hills (Map 22) from Newmarket/ Aurora to New Tecumseth/Bradford.
We unfortunately became part of East Gwillimbury because of property taxes and disputes over payments of Green Lane.
Harvest Hills is a community of 7 short streets at the north end of Newmarket, situated between Green Lane Centre at Yonge St and Bathurst St, south of Green Lane. It is part of Woodland Hills a suburban area of Newmarket. Our local school Phoebe Gillman P-S is under the jurisdiction of Newmarket. Our hydro is delivered by Newmarket-Tay, gas, water, libraries and our hospital are all in Newmarket and York region.
You want your citizens to be engaged and to participate in their community and electoral process and to vote. By moving us out of our region will breed apathy, we have nothing in common with Tecumseth/Bradford citizens which is mostly rural with different priorities.
So please, we really want you to seriously reconsider your decision. We have been well served federally by being part of Newmarket/Aurora.
