As a resident of northeastern Ontario, i am vehemently opposed to the proposed electoral boundary changes. Northeastern Ontario contributes significantly to the economy through mining, agriculture and forestry, even though our population is not as dense as other areas of Canada. We are continually at a disadvantage regarding the issues that come with having to travel great distances for things that more heavily populated areas take for granted. Access to physicians and medical testing, post secondary education, jobs and even grocery shopping are just a few examples of some of the barriers we face. Public transportation is virtually non-existent here, as political leadership is always decided by the heavily populated areas in southern Ontario, which sees billions of tax dollars allocated for public transit, LTC's and medical facilities, cultural events, educational opportunities, etc.

It is imperative we are allowed a voice to represent our unique challenges and affect change for our region so that we can have some of the opportunities that southern Ontario residents take for granted.

As it stands, the AMK riding covers a vast region and would benefit by being divided into smaller catchment areas, not being absorbed by Greater Sudbury and Sault Ste Marie.

Due to being unable to travel (can't just hop on the Go Train or even a Bud Car) to attend the upcoming consultations regarding these proposed changes, please consider this letter my opposition to the proposal.

We live, work and contribute taxes in northeastern Ontario and want our voices heard and our needs respected.

Sincere regards,

Kelli Hansson
