The proposal to change the ridings in Northern Ontario is ill thought out and one I oppose. Particularly as we need to pull together, reconcile and learn from the truth of our history in this region particularly that of First Nation peoples, but also of industry and un-sustainable development practices that are helping to contribute to the climate crisis. This is not a time to lessen the voice and the capacity to collaborate effectively of the people of Northern Ontario. One riding stretching over 55 communities days travel apart from one another, each of kilometer of which is front-line on some of the key issues we are trying to tackle federally today.
Please reconsider. Do not act on this proposal.
