My name is Dan Wallace. I am a constituent of Kanata Carleton riding who lives in the village of Carp Ontario.

I have recently learned that our riding is under consideration to be re-zoned and that Carp village would be folded into our neighbouring Kanata riding.

As a resident of a small rural village, this is concerning to me. We are a relatively small population whose needs often differ significantly from our friends who live in suburban Kanata.

In our current riding, our shared concerns are amplified with neighbouring small rural communities like Kinburn, Fitzroy and Constance bay. However my understanding is that these communities may now be split into seperate ridings.

I fear that if Carp with a population of only 2500 is swallowed into the Kanata riding with 50k+ residents, our unique rural community needs will be overshadowed and not adequately represented in parliament.

To me, it makes much more sense that we are represented by the same member of parliament as our neighbouring rural communities like Fitzroy, Kinburn and Constance Bay.
