I understand the need to redistribute the ridings every 10 years based on population trends. I would like to know the impact of a change in a Federal riding if the Provincial and Municipal ridings are done with a different set of boundaries. For example, Tillsonburg is a part of the current Federal, Provincial and Municipal riding of Oxford. With the new Federal boundaries, Tillsonburg would go to Haldimand/Norfolk and Oxford would acquire more of Brant. Will this not pose a problem for downstream initiatives if Tillsonburg is represented by an entirely different group of people and not considered part of Oxford? Or, is it expected that once the Federal level has revised the boundaries, it is expected that the Provincial and Municipal governments will follow suit? In this case, Tillsonburg, a town in Oxford County, and the only Oxford community, will no longer be represented by the same MP as other towns and communities within the county.
