In response to your proposed redistribution of relating to the Kitchener-Conestoga riding, I submit that it would add to the already awkward configuration of Kitchener-Conestoga Riding. I think the following changes would be more appropriate.

  1. Keep the Rosenberg area part of Kitchener-Conestoga (south of Bleams & west of Fischer-Hallman - sometimes called Seabrook)

    Because:

    • Residents of Rosenberg regularly use the Williamsburg Community Centre,
    • The Williamsburg Community Centre promotes events in the Rosenberg area,
    • The schools in Rosenberg feed into the Forest Heights area,
    • Many people in that area worship at the Golden Triangle Sikh Association in Kitchener-Conestoga,
    • People receive the Kitchener Citizen West newspaper like the rest of the Kitchener portion of the riding
  2. Keep Hespeler united as a community

    Because:

    • the community of Hespeler is one of the oldest settlements in the region and has a distinct identity,
    • Hespeler residents are proud of their community and their name - which would disappear with the new riding of Kitchener South - North Dumfries,
    • This community should remain united and not split between two ridings,
    • Hespeler would get the Cambridge Times where the rest of the riding would get the Waterloo Region Record.
  3. Add the Forest Hill area of Kitchener (east to Westmount road, north to Highland Road, south to Hwy 7/8)

    Because:

    • Forest Hill and Forest Heights are two neighbourhoods that connect to make one community,
    • Forest Hill public schools, French immersion schools and catholic schools all feed into West Heights Public School and Forest Heights Collegiate,
    • Forest Hill and Forest Heights share the same hospitals, community centre, library, a pool and churches,
    • Children in both Forest Heights and Forest Hill neighbourhoods often play on the same sports teams like Forest Hill T-Ball.
