As a resident of the western portion of the County of Brant I am writing to register my dissent with the redrawn electoral district. We will now be in a district with portions of 2 separate and distinct counties. I have no idea where the office of an MP would be, but for an individual to cover two entirely different areas as one makes no sense to me. It is critical that there be a sense of union among constituents. How can this happen when they live in 2 very different areas where the rest of daily life functions around their local address.
This system does not appear to take any concern with the best way to serve the people, but rather to mathematically satisfy policy wonks.
I would urge more open and transparent opportunities for public engagement on this very important matter.
