I am a resident of Kerwood, in Middlesex County. I support the proposed changes because they make our county the heart of the riding again, instead of lumping it in with Lambton county. Wallaceburg, for instance, has no connection to Strathroy, and naturally relates to Sarnia-Lambton, not Middlesex. The proposed changes are getting partisan pushback from our MP, Lianne Rood, because she's from Grand Bend, and will have to compete with another CPC incumbent if the redistribution proceeds as proposed. It has nothing to do with 'our way of life or our rural heritage' as she said in her latest constituent newsletter. The areas of Kent and Elgin included in the new riding of Elgin-Middlesex-Thames have actually more in common with Middlesex in terms of their agricultural and community heritage. The 402 tends to be a dividing line for agriculture in Southwestern Ontario, so putting most of the new riding south of the 402 makes a lot of sense.

I hope you will proceed as planned and not give too much credence to MP Rood's efforts to keep her seat in the old LKM riding.
