Judy Ingraham, President of the Tobique-Mactaquac Conservative Electoral District Association

I wish to lend support to the Commission's proposal.

Additional information from Ms. Ingraham received on 23 August 2022

As the current President of the Tobique Mactaquac PCP EDA and as such would like to confirm the new proposed distribution is acceptable to the Association. The proposed redistribution includes territory we are very familiar with its close proximity particularly to our southerly boundaries. The area also fits well within our current Provincial Riding area as well as the new Rural Community Distribution.

Presentation at the public hearing in Woodstock on 7 September 2022

I am Judy Ingraham, President of the Tobique Mactaquac Conservative Electoral District Association.

By area, Tobique Mactaquac currently is one of the largest riding in the province. The current proposed re-distribution is favourable, given a portion of the northerly part of the riding is being reassigned to Madewaska-Restigouche, while portions of New Brunswick Southwest are being reassigned to Tobique Mactaquac.

With the current proposal, in part as an example, both sides of the St. John River westerly of Silverwood & northerly to Allendale, allows our riding to better reflect areas of common interest & concerns. This re-distribution includes like Rural Communities, School Districts, Municipalities, Provincial Ridings as well as organizations such as the Mactaquac Country Chamber of Commerce.

Just 20 km from Nackawic, I live in Dumfries on the south side of the St. John River which is currently in New Brunswick Southwest Riding. Unfortunately, we currently share very few common interests with St. Andrews/St. Stephen or southerly. Dumfries will join the new Nackawic, Millville.... Rural Community located on the north side of the St. John River, with many years of common shared interests.

The new distribution as presented will allow for more timely visitations, public meetings and communications by our Member of Parliament around the riding.

I extend my thank you to the Commission for this opportunity to present today.
