Clarington is a rapidly growing area that is very distinct from its neighbouring Durham Region to the west and rural area to the North and East.
We are currently part of a 2-tier Municipality which give Durham Region control of the Municipality of Clarington.
Although Durham Region controls many public services, our kids go to the rural-style Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
We're at the absolute corner of all three electoral districts here in Newcastle, Ontario and get minimal representation from any of our elected officials.
It's definitely a time for a change in this area.
