I am 100% opposed to any boundary or name changes.

Simcoe North is located North is Lake Simcoe. We are surrounded by many other ridings that have the same geographic names.

I see not logic in changing the name to Penetanguishene which is a small community and Couchiching which is a small lake.

If you want to honour the French and Indigenous peoples, why not hold public meetings in the communities you are considering name changes. Adam Chambers MP for Simcoe North is very capable of providing local feedback to your department.

We as citizens have NOT been given the opportunity to comment on your decision to change the name or boundaries.

You have not given any time for us to consider the changes, there has been extremely limited notice of the changes. I found out about this change at a car show rather that fully fulsome open notices given you your department.

I have spoken to many French and Indigenous citizens and leaders and NO ONE has heard about you it proposed changes.

People want to have a say in what is proposed rather than someone from Ottawa telling us what you have reviewed and feel is the best for us.

People who live close to Orillia, live, shop and work in Orillia not Barrie. To move the boundaries makes not local sense what so ever as people do not connect with Barrie as they geographically live closer to Orillia.

Please leave Simcoe North alone!

We know what is best for us. At the very least please give us the honour of holding local public meetings to inform locals what you are proposing.
