If you're going to insist on making this a riding, the name needs to be actually reflective of the area. "Lake Simcoe" is a geographical feature shared by a number of other ridings, like those in the Barrie area. Uxbridge Township, while centrally located in this proposal, is the same size as Kewsick, and Scugog Township, which have been ignored in the name. To ignore the people in those two regions, which have been represented in the House by separate members in separate districts and even separate upper levels of municipal government (the area in Georgina and Kewsick is in York Region, Uxbridge and Scugog are in Durham Region) makes very little sense.
I imagine that there will be some pushback in the area. At least recognizing 2/3 of the ridings population in the name would soothe some of the naysayers.
