I am writing to you to voice my concern and opposition to realignment of a proposed electoral boundary change that would see the area north of Highway 401 in Kingston included with the proposed riding of Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott.

I am not in favour of this proposal based on the following:

• The area north of Highway 401 in Kingston currently is serviced by the police and fire services of the City of Kingston;
• The social, cultural and economic activity in the area north of Highway 401 in Kingston is centered around the City of Kingston and is not closely tied to Gananoque, Brockville or even Prescott;
• The landowners north of Highway 401 in Kingston pay property taxes to the City of Kingston and not Gananoque, Brockville, or Prescott; and
• The average distance to the current constituency office is about 10 km in Kingston versus 90 km to Brockville for those folks currently living north of Highway 401.
