To whom it may concern: We live 10 minutes north of Highway 401. We have lived here and operated a farm business here for almost 20 years. During this time we have considered ourselves part of the greater Kingston community and have had all of our services provided from Kingston - police and fire services, building permits and inspections, hospital services, etc. We pay our property taxes to Kingston. We do our shopping and local outings in Kingston and we care about having a voice in the political process and decisions in the area in which we live.
We don't understand what is driving the proposal to combine us with a riding that has nothing to do with our services and where the constituency office is 90 km away.
We are strongly opposed to the proposal to change electoral boundaries for adding us to the riding of Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott.
