Richard A. Moore

Currently, as you are aware, the Township of North Glengarry is included within the electoral district of Prescott-Russell, which in my opinion (shared by the majority of North Glengarry constituents) requires changes.

"Given the fact that the Electoral Boundaries Commission has a targeted population quota within it's 122 electoral districts of 116,590 the "new riding" of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry would have a population of 114,637 while the "new riding" of Prescott Russell would have a population of 111,164" – Glengarry News, Aug 31, 2022.

The Commission appears to have a mandate that only relies on population distribution, while not taking into account other factors in determining electoral districts. Let me assure you, Ms. Puddy, that as a resident of North Glengarry I bear testimony that in 2018 when I severed a 100A property I paid taxes to the R.R.C.A. which is located in Stormont County.

We, in Glengarry, (both north and south Townships) owe our allegiance to the Raisin River and it's drainage basin which flows into the St. Lawrence River. Prescott Russell, on the other hand, owes it's allegiance to the Nation River, and it's Conservation Authority (SNCA).

Glengarry's commonality in geography (as well as historic and cultural factors) is divergent from our norther electoral neighbours and suggests that an electoral change is imperative in order to best serve the interests of the Township of North Glengarry.

Sincerely yours,

R.A. Moore
