It has recently come to my attention that there is a recommendation proffered to include my specific area of Countryside (as part of South Frontenac) to be aligned with the electoral boundary district for Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott.

I am vehemently opposed to such a decision. South Frontenac has nothing regionally associated with Brockville-Prescott. Even Gan has far more in common with Kingston than it does with Brockville-Prescott.

Let me be perfectly blunt. I think it is short-sighted to lump South Frontenac with the electoral district of Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott. Countryside pays it's property and school taxes to Kingston, we share Policing, Ambulance and Fire services with them - not Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott.

It is with the city of Kingston that we voice our concerns and who understands our representational needs far better than anyone out of Brockville and certainly Prescott.

In addition, we share the majority of our cultural, economic, and social experiences with the Kingston area, particularly so with health concerns continuing to be foremost on peoples minds.

My family goes into Kingston several times a week. We go to Gananoque a few times a year, Brockville once a year and never to Prescott.

If I need to visit the federal constituency office in Kingston I am 20 minutes away on a bad day but if it is in Brockville I would have to travel almost 50 minutes to get there, and as a senior that would be a hardship.

Please consider this feedback in making your decision and have South Frontenac, including my area of Countryside, federally aligned with the district of Kingston and NOT Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott.

Regards,

Bill Brown
