I am writing today with regards to the federal riding boundary. My interests do not align with the new proposed riding of Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott. I live in the rural Kingston area. My taxes are paid to the City of Kingston. My police service and fire service, which I pay for in my taxes, are from the Kingston area, my area, where I live. I have absolutely no interest in the Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott area. My social, cultural and economic activity is here in Kingston, Ontario. Why are we, in rural Kingston, treated as though we are outsiders in the Kingston riding? We should be able to have our say and not have to drive over 90kms to a constituency office to make our voice known. I want to be able to drive approximately 10km to my nearest constituency office. I pay taxes here in Kingston, Ontario. I want to be able to vote in the Kingston area, not in an area that is many miles away from me. I have never understood why we are voting for an area that we have nothing to do with. It makes absolutely no sense. It is time for a change. Julie McInnes
