I am a resident in the Milton Subdivision off Highway 2 about 8 km East of downtown Kingston. My current federal riding is Kingston and the Islands. It is my understanding that the Ontario Federal Redistribution Commission is considering whether to include my neighbourhood into a riding that includes Gananoque, Prescott, and Brockville.
It is my strong preference that my neighbourhood should remain in the Kingston and the Islands riding. We are in the municipal boundary of Kingston. We are on Kingston municipal water and pay Kingston taxes. My place of work is located in downtown Kingston. My children attend Maple (formerly Kingston East) elementary school, which is located in Kingston. My family spends its time and money disproportionately at Kingston stores and restaurants. Our political and cultural interests are tied much closer to Kingston than to Gananoque, Prescott, and Brockville.
I ask that my email be considered by the Ontario Federal Redistribution Commission in connection with any proposed redistribution.
