I am writing regarding the potential electoral redistribution of the areas of the municipality of Kingston located north of Highway 401.

We strongly urge that if redistribution occurs, these areas be included in the Kingston and the Islands federal riding boundary as opposed to being included in the proposed riding of Gananoque-Brockville-Prescott. The following are our reasons for this strong recommendation:

• Residents of this area live within a maximum 15 minutes drive to Highway 401 and therefore 15 - 20 minutes from any part of this area to a constituency office. The drive to a constituency office in Brockville could take as long as one hour,
• We pay taxes to the municipality of Kingston
• My City of Kingston Councillor lives on my street and won't be able to vote in his constituency
• My mailing address is Kingston, Ontario
• I own property in the City of Kingston
• Police, fire and ambulance services are provided from Kingston
• Road maintenance, garbage and recycling and other residential services are provided from Kingston
• Our children and grandchildren, and those of our neighbours, are educated within the Kingston school board region
• We worked and our children and grandchildren continue to work in Kingston. The same is true of our neighbours.
• We and our neighbours go to Kingston for dining, shopping, sports activities and entertainment
• This is not a reasonable proposal for me to be able to be able to cast my vote

Please align this area with the electoral district to which it clearly belongs. Kingston and the Islands.
