The southern part of Burlington has continuously been part of a single electoral district, whereas North Burlington has previously been divided from the rest of the city. Removing the narrow sliver of Burlington east of Appleby - and adding it to two new districts both referencing Oakville and not Burlington - is a slight to the residents of that area.
