Dear Commission Members:
On September 14, 2022, Council for the Municipality of Temagami discussed the proposed redistribution of federal electoral boundaries as included in resolution from the Township of Coleman.
Council is in agreement that the number of ridings in Northern Ontario should not be reduced given the large geographical area and echo the other comments made in Coleman's resolution #22-08-31-02 (attached).
We urge the Commission to withdraw the proposal to eliminate any Federal Ridings in Northern Ontario and suggest that part of your recommendations include introducing legislation that will provide a guaranteed minimum number of Federal Ridings for Northern Ontario.
