Northern Ontario already has very large ridings.
Northern Ontario must not take a step backwards and be forced to lose one of its current seats. The area is huge and is already geographically impossible to service. Don't make it even worse by cutting a riding in Northern Ontario, making the remaining ridings even larger and harder to service. That would be the wrong thing to do. You must leave the number as it currently stands.
Ridings in rural New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Labrador, Saskatchewan have smaller populations than Northern Ontario ridings and are not being cut. It's absolutely not fair to think about cutting a riding from Northern Ontario.
Do not cut a federal seat in Northern Ontario. That would be a huge mistake. We want to increase political engagement, not diminish it. Northern Ontario has a right to be fully represented like other rural and northern parts of Canada.
I add my voice to those of other Northern Ontario residents who are urging the Boundaries Commission to NOT cut a seat to Northern Ontario.
