I am writing this letter to you to express my positive opinion on the electoral redistribution of my riding, Nepean. In my opinion, the redistribution is highly beneficial to the Nepean electoral district and the different communities in Nepean. I want to mention some vital redistribution changes that will benefit the people of Nepean.

As a resident of Nepean, I have seen the riding growing very fast in terms of population and economy. For instance, the difference between the 2011 and 2021 censuses showed a 30% increase in the people of the Nepean constituency. This fast population growth raised concerns among the residents of Nepean over delays in getting services from the federal and provincial governments. Nevertheless, the new proposed redrawing addresses this issue of population growth.

Also, residents like me always had confusion over the geographical distribution of the Nepean as it used to cover a wide area. I often hear people landing in neighbouring MP offices and polling stations by mistake, as ordinary people can't understand complicated electoral maps. Sometimes people get confused about their MP and whom to approach for a particular issue. The proposed redistribution makes it easier for people to understand their riding map. In particular, the proposed map of the Nepean electoral district is straightforward to understand, with Canadian National Railway on the North, Veterans Memorial Highway on the West, Rideau River on the East and Barnsdale Road on the South.

In other words, from the existing areas of the Nepean electoral district, Bells corner area is added to the Kanata riding, and Fallowfield village and Manotick are added to the Carleton riding. Geographically, this redistribution makes life easier for the constituents as they don't need to travel far to get services from federal and provincial government representatives.

I believe my feedback on the redistribution will be helpful to you as a part of the public hearing process. I look forward to seeing the changes from the upcoming election for the growth of Nepean riding and the welfare of the Nepean people.
